The London Heliport (ICAO: EGLW), in Battersea, is the city’s only licensed heliport and is located on the south bank of the River Thames, near Battersea and opposite Chelsea Harbour; is one of Europe’s most modern heliports, formerly known as Battersea Heliport and now officially named the Edmiston London Heliport for sponsorship purposes. It is a solely licensed heliport; offering the highest level of customer comfort and convenience. It provides a quick and convenient way to travel to and from central London by helicopter, primarily for business professionals, VIP clients, and tourists seeking a fast travel option. The facility was built by W. & C. French and opened on April 23, 1959.

The heliport, which was once owned by Westland and subsequently by Harrods, is a tiny facility that uses a jetty to offer a helipad for take-off and landing, as well as onshore parking for three to four aircraft. Battersea is on the south bank of the River Thames, 3 nautical miles (5.6 km; 3.5 miles) southwest of Westminster Bridge and between Wandsworth Bridge and Battersea Railway Bridge.

London Heliport offers a fully licensed rescue and firefighting service that is on duty for all aircraft movements at the port and responds to any helicopter incident in the London region. The Heliports Fire Service also trains regularly alongside their colleagues from the London Fire Brigade and the RNLI, and they provide helicopter emergency training to any emergency service.
